A posy of wildflowers for wildlife relief
UPDATE: SOLD OUT! THANK YOU! PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER UPDATES!
In response to the ongoing bushfire crisis in Australia and particularly the catastrophic effect this has had on native flora and fauna, the dreamboats at HarperCollins Design Studio have created a limited edition print to raise money and awareness in support of WIRES, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation that helps rescue native animals in distress.
From design HQ:
“This limited edition print of Edith Rewa’s floral illustrations from the award-winning book cover of Holly Ringland’s debut novel The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, has been lovingly designed by Hazel Lam and is printed on 100% cotton fine-art paper by Hound and Bone Studio. Written below the posy of native wildflowers are the words ‘have courage, take heart’ … a key theme from Holly’s heartbreaking story and a message for all during this unfolding disaster.
In addition, from The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, the flowers featured have the following pertinent meanings of sorrow, loss and regeneration:
Waratah: Return of happiness
Kangaroo Paw: Pleasures of memory
Wattle: I wound to heal
Thryptomene: Flame, I burn
Flannel Flower: What is lost is found
The sale of each print (minimum AUD$50 donation) will help raise funds and awareness for WIRES. Shipping is unfortunately limited to Australia-wide only, but be sure to get in quick before 5pm Thursday 23rd January 2020 as there are only 30 available!
Love, HarperCollins Design Studio”
